Referring back to yesterday (9th) because I didn’t have a chance to get on then… it was a very long day. We started off the day with breakfast at around 7:30 and hang out there for like 45 minutes or so. I ate croissants with ham and Swiss cheese; it was really good. We then met in the lobby at 8:45 to go on a tour of London. We hit all the big spots in a double decker bus and a private tour guide who was extremely knowledgeable and quite funny too. We saw and stopped at Westminster Abbey, Tower Bridge, Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, St. Paul’s Cathedral, Trafalgar’s Square…and I think that that is it.

I learned that London is really only 1 square mile – the rest of London is called Greater London. There are also something like 32 boroughs in London. We stayed in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (royal because Prince Albert used to live there.) Some places we stopped and took pictures along the tour and we finally ended up in Covent Gardens and ate at an outdoor Italian place there with some of the people from our group. Caitlin and I shared pizza that had egg, bacon, and mushrooms on it. It was pretty good, but around 10 pounds (20 bucks…). Boo. We then walked around and there were lots of magicians and street musicians/performers. I really wanted to go to see the Crown Jewels in the Tower of London, so I thought…oh we can walk there its not too far. I then looked on the map and we walked about 35 minutes (my knees were killing me by this time – and I also have barely had any sleep this entire time). We finally get there at like 4:07 and they stopped selling tickets at 4:00. I was pretty much the saddest person. We just took some pictures by it and pretended it was awesome. Now I just have an excuse to go back! But then we took the tube back to the hotel, but realized we were starving again so we looked in the Europe travel book we had and found this place that had 11 inch pizzas for 3 pounds – that’s basically so cheap and AWESOME! We had bought the day pass for the tube, so looked at all the maps and found our way there. It was cool and we got 2 drinks and a huge pizza for 6.50!
It was so worth the adventure. After that we took the tube back home and stopped at a store for dessert….none other than sticky toffee pudding!! haha. By this time, I was absolutely exhausted. We went to bed around midnight and then awoke at 5am to get ready to leave for Munich.
